Star Wars X-Wing: Blue Bases and Pegs
Star Wars X-Wing: Blue Bases and Pegs

X-Wing is the two-player miniatures game of fantastic, squad-based dogfights set in the Star Wars galaxy. Players assemble their squadrons, calling upon such starfighters as X-wings, TIE fighters, and even the Millennium Falcon. Then they launch their ships into battle.

Since its release in 2012, X-Wing has exploded in popularity, and it continues to grow. There are many reasons for the game’s popularity. They include its highly detailed and pre-painted starship miniatures, an intuitive ruleset that takes only minutes to learn, and the nearly limitless measure of customization permitted by the game’s rules for squad-building.

It is this ability to customize your squad through different pairings of ships and upgrades that allows you to experiment with a wide variety of squadrons and enjoy a wide variety of different play experiences, even with just a few ships. Moreover, the game’s deep possibilities for customization allow you to pursue the squadrons, tactics, and strategies that best suit your tastes.

Now, you can customize your squadron even further with translucent plastic bases and pegs made in five different colors: Blue, Red, Green, Orange, and Purple. These will also be accompanied by bases and pegs in the same clear plastic as you get in your X-Wing Core Set or expansion packs.

Each package of X-Wing colored bases and pegs comes with four small bases, ten small pegs, one large base, and three large pegs. And all of them are X-Wing tournament-legal.

Because they’re manufactured to the same settings as standard X-Wing bases and pegs, you can use your X-Wing colored bases and pegs in tournament play, meaning you can fly Luke Skywalker and your other Red Squadron X-wings on red bases and pegs.

You can distinguish your Binayre Pirates from each other by flying one on an orange base and one on green. Then you can add more thematic color to your squad by outfitting your Hound’s Tooth with an orange base and pegs while outfitting Prince Xizor’s ship with a rich purple base and pegs.

Of course, you can simply use your colored bases and pegs to call out the colors on your ships or to highlight the differences between the game’s factions. Accordingly, you might call out the blue stripes on Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing by outfitting it with a blue base and pegs while you fly the First Order’s TIE/fo fighters atop red bases and pegs that echo the aggressive red tint of their cockpit windows.

In the end, your colored X-Wing bases and pegs aren’t just eye-catching, they’re also tremendously helpful in distinguishing your ships from each other and from your opponent’s.

Don’t Just Play Your Games. Live Them.
With its beautiful miniatures, iconic characters, and streamlined rules, X-Wing quickly immerses you in a galaxy full of fantastic, fast-paced space battles. Soon, you’ll be able to add even more to the game’s immersive qualities by adding colored X-Wing bases and pegs to your squadrons. Along with our Star Wars playmats, these are just another way to ensure that your X-Wing experience is as deeply thematic and compelling as you want it to be!

• An accessory for the popular X-Wing Miniatures Game
• Available in six colors: blue, red, green, purple, orange, and clear
• Contains four small bases, ten small pegs, one large base, and three large pegs
• All bases and pegs are fully tournament legal
• Use to identify individual ships or distinguish your squadron from your opponent’s

Star Wars X-Wing: BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack

Once a common sight in the Imperial Navy, the slow and lumbering Y-wing has long since been phased out of the Imperial ranks in favor of the faster and far more maneuverable TIE fighter. The BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack includes a beautifully pre-painted miniature and all the ship and upgrade cards you need to incorporate this powerful ship into your Rebel squadron.

In addition, the BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack contains a few entirely new cards that have never before appeared in the game's first edition. These new cards and associated punchboard are also included in the Rebel Alliance Conversion Kit for the benefit of veteran players!

Stay on Target
Once a common sight in the Imperial Navy, the slow and lumbering Y-wing has long since been phased out of the Imperial ranks in favor of the faster and far more maneuverable TIE fighter. To the fledgling Rebel Alliance, however, the ship’s durability, dependability, and heavy armament make it an appealing choice for missions that need a little more firepower.

As the Rebellion’s primary bomber, the Y-wing is able to equip some heavy munitions that can wreak havoc on the battlefield. Whether it is launching a flurry of torpedoes at the enemy or dropping proton bombs, the Y-wing can cause numerous headaches for ships unprepared to face it.

Similarly, the Y-wing can also be upgraded with a turret weapon, giving it even more options in the middle of a fight. Equipping one with an Ion Cannon Turret, for example, doesn't just let you deal a bit of damage to an enemy ship. It also lets you load that ship with ion tokens, limiting its movement and making it an easier target in the future.

The BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack includes a beautifully pre-painted miniature and all the ship and upgrade cards you need to incorporate this powerful ship into your Rebel squadron. We'll explore the Y-Wing and this expansion pack in much more detail in a future preview!

In addition, the BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack contains a few entirely new cards that have never before appeared in the game's first edition. These new cards and associated punchboard are also included in the Rebel Alliance Conversion Kit for the benefit of veteran players!

Star Wars X-Wing: Delta-7 Aethersprite Expansion Pack

The Delta-7 Aethersprite is an elegant craft designed to help Jedi Knights cross the gulfs between the stars in their quest to uphold justice. Equipped with an astromech for navigation, it is lightly armed but highly maneuverable, its fine-tuned controls allowing a Force-sensitive pilot to fly it with unmatched precision.

With five ship cards—including four unique pilots—the Delta-7 Aethersprite Expansion Pack adds even more Jedi for you to include in your Galactic Republic squadrons, including the legendary Anakin Skywalker. Featuring an alternate paint scheme to ship included in the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack, this expansion also features six upgrade cards designed to get even more out of your ship and its Jedi pilots.

Jedi Knights travel far across the galaxy in their mission to uphold justice. Rather than cross the gulfs between the stars and their destination in any ship, they choose one specifically designed to augment their considerable abilities. Equipped with an astromech for navigation, the Delta-7 Aethersprite is lightly armed but highly maneuverable, its fine-tuned controls allowing a Force-sensitive pilot to fly it with unmatched precision.

With five ship cards—including four unique pilots—the Delta-7 Aethersprite Expansion Pack adds even more Jedi for you to include in your Galactic Republic squadrons, including the legendary Anakin Skywalker. Though the Delta-7 is specifically designed to work with its pilot’s enhanced reflexes, any Jedi would still welcome the aid of the Calibrated Laser Targeting modification to add even more damage potential to their primary attacks. Furthermore, the miniature included in this expansion features an alternate paint scheme to the ships included in the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack, here evoking the starfighter flown by none other than Anakin Skywalker.

Star Wars X-Wing: Epic Battles Multiplayer Expansion
Star Wars X-Wing: Epic Battles Multiplayer Expansion

Epic Battles introduces a totally new way to play X-Wing, inviting two to eight players to engage in epic multiplayer battles as they command massive fleets in large-scale games that evoke iconic Star Wars scenes.

Whether fought between the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance, the Resistance and the First Order, or the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, the Star Wars saga is defined by massive space battles that pit groups of heavily-armed warships and dozens of smaller starfighters against one another. Soon, you’ll have the chance to enter these battles and test your mettle in some of the most intense and chaotic space battles in the Star Wars galaxy.

Featuring eleven cinematic scenarios—from team games to chaotic, eight-player, free-for-all battles—Epic Battles broadens the possibilities of X-Wing, creating an exciting new experience for players of all skill levels. In addition to the scenarios and rules for playing with more than two players, Epic Battles also introduces wings, an exciting new way for players to control multiple ships in formation using only a single maneuver dial. Wings work particularly well when flying in conjunction with huge ships, the largest class of ships available in X-Wing.

No matter if you’re going head-to-head with a single opponent or coordinating your attacks with a teammate, the new game modes you find in Epic Battles create an exciting new X-Wing experience.

Stay on Target
In the white-knuckle space battles of X-Wing, the only thing a pilot can rely on is their wingmates. When flying together, pilots can cover each other with valuable fire support and, if your squadron includes limited pilots, their abilities can synergize to benefit the entire squadron. Now, Epic Battles lets you use wings to truly harness the power of groups of starfighters flying in formation.

Moving together using a single dial, wings let you easily navigate groups of three to six ships through the chaos of battle and use them as a combined force to complete your objectives. Within the Epic Battles Multiplayer Expansion, you’ll find everything you need to form complete wings of starfighters, including two full-size wing tools, two mini wing tools, and a corner wing tool, as well as eight wing upgrade cards, seven wing Quick Build Cards, and twenty-four wing ID cards to easily track every ship in your wings.

No matter how many wings you choose to fly, each wing is commanded by one wing leader, who executes maneuvers normally while their wingmates form up around them. Each ship in the wing has a specific position in the formation and the five wing tools found in Epic Battles help to quickly arrange your ships. To arrange ships around a full-size wing tool, for example, you'll simply align each ship’s center line with the corresponding line on the tool.

Wings not only make flying in formation easier, they also speed up gameplay considerably, accelerating resolution even when there are many ships in play. But wings also change the makeup of your squadrons, granting special abilities. If you choose to make a TIE Advanced x1 or TIE Advanced v1 pilot an Agent of the Empire, for example, they can be accompanied by a complement of TIE/ln fighters that can put themselves in harm’s way to defend their leader.

New Battles
Wings of starfighters are usually just one part of larger battles and Epic Battles expands the scale of X-Wing to accommodate these groups of fighters. In addition to the tools you need to form and fly wings, this expansion also features eleven unique scenarios and all the components you need to play them.

From taking desperate defensive actions as friendly transports escape to daring assaults on enemy fortifications, each scenario provides a new way to play X-Wing. While many of these scenarios see two players facing off in tense head-to-head combat, others bring in more players for team battles or epic free-for-alls between three or more players.

In Intel Pickup, for example, two to four players compete for control of satellites that have been gathering key hyperlane data. Eager to seize this information, several factions have appeared to claim the satellites as their own. During this game, players must contend with enemy ships while trying to secure the data from five satellites placed around the board.

The scenarios you find in Epic Battles don't just add a cinematic feel to your games. Many allow you to exceed the squad-building restrictions placed on other games of X-Wing, giving you the chance to build massive 500-point or 20-threat squadrons. As such, these engagements are a natural fit for huge ships, such as the Raider-class corvette and the C-ROC cruiser. While they are not required for the Epic game mode, these massive vessels give you powerful new options for you fleets, allowing you to strike at long range with devastating turbolasers, command smaller fighters, and disrupt enemy battle plans with electronic warfare.

Enter the Saga
The chaos of battle surrounds you as enemy fighters dart between massive warships. It will take more than just fancy flying to lead your squadron to victory in battles like this. Step up to the largest X-Wing battles yet with the Epic Battles Multiplayer Expansion!

Star Wars X-Wing: Fang Fighter Expansion Pack

For Mandalore
Mandalorians are known throughout the galaxy as ferocious warriors, and the sight of their iconic armor enough to strike fear in even the most hardened Imperial or Rebel. When it comes to space combat, the pilots of Mandalore prefer one starfighter above all others: the Fang Fighter.

Rather than relying on shields and heavy armament, the Fang Fighter takes advantage of advanced pivot wing technology and a low attack profile to execute deadly head-on charges against enemy ships. Since it's a ship that operates best up close, the Fang Fighter features several daring ways to quickly close the distance on your opponent. Every Fang Fighter can link a barrel roll or boost with a red focus action, allowing you to get into position to launch a particularly deadly attack or increase your chances of surviving an enemy salvo.

Furthermore, several upgrades can help the Fang Fighter become even more effective at close range. If you have a Fearless pilot, for example, you are guaranteed at least one hit while performing a primary weapon attack… so long as you're charging straight at your opponent!

The Fang Fighter Expansion Pack includes a fully pre-painted Fang Fighter miniature, a maneuver dial, and all the ship cards, upgrade cards, and tokens you need to add one of these deadly starfighters to your squadron. We'll explore the full capabilities of the Fang Fighter and the contents of this expansion pack in a future preview!

Star Wars X-Wing: First Order Conversion Kit
Star Wars X-Wing: First Order Conversion Kit

For too long, the First Order has been relegated to the far corners of the galaxy. But, with these expansion packs, you can join their fight and destroy those who embrace disorder. Following in the footsteps of the Empire, the First Order spreads terror in the form of mass-produced starfighters designed to overwhelm their opponents with sheer numbers.

In X-Wing Second Edition, the First Order is being introduced as its own unique faction separate from the Galactic Empire. Veteran X-Wing players will be able to use the cards, tokens, and maneuver dials found in the First Order Conversion Kit to bring their existing TIE/fo fighters, TIE/sf fighters, TIE/vn silencers, and Upsilon-class shuttles into X-Wing Second Edition. Meanwhile, veteran players looking to further expand their squadrons or new players prepared to start their own fleet can sow the seeds of terror by adding more of the First Order’s take on the infamous TIE fighter.

Crush the Resistance
As you might expect from the successor to the Galactic Empire, the First Order fields a variety of starfighters based on classic Imperial designs. Far from simply rehashing these older ships, though, First Order fighters feature a number of refinements that give them the edge in their fight against the loathsome Resistance. The First Order Conversion Kit makes your first edition versions of these ships immediately available for use in your X-Wing Second Edition squadrons.

Within the First Order Conversion Kit, you’ll find everything you need to strike fear into the heart of the Resistance and take your squad into the future of X-Wing, including a wide variety of new ship cards and tokens, more than one-hundred upgrade cards, and new maneuver dials for all of your First Order ships. The ship cards contained in this kit include some of the most celebrated pilots in the First Order, such as Major Stridan, “Backdraft,” and Kylo Ren himself.

Skilled as they may be, these vaunted pilots and their ships can always benefit from upgrades. Alongside the other upgrades included in the First Order Conversion Kit, you’ll also find ten Tech upgrade cards that can only be used on starfighters from this era. Finally, the conversion kit provides plenty of options for completing your squadrons, containing enough maneuver dials to convert seven TIE/fo fighters, five TIE/so fighters, three TIE/vn silencers, and three Upsilon-class shuttles to X-Wing Second Edition.

In addition to the being present in the First Order Conversion Kit, all of the First Order pilots, ships, and upgrades will be fully implemented in the X-Wing Second Edition squad-builder app when they are released. A pdf with the point values of all First Order pilots and upgrades will also be available for reference on our website. New players can also use the conversion kit and first edition versions of First Order ships for even more options when building their squads!

Star Wars X-Wing: Fugitives and Collaborators Squadron Pack
Star Wars X-Wing: Fugitives and Collaborators Squadron Pack

Throughout the history of the Star Wars galaxy, there have been those who stood in the shadows between the great powers of each era. From outcast Jedi padawans trying to forget their pasts after Order 66 to mercenaries who serve the nefarious First Order for credits, there have always been Fugitives and Collaborators.

The Fugitives and Collaborators Squadron Pack for Scum and Villainy includes one HWK-290 light freighter and two BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighters, all flown by outsiders who find themselves drawn into deadly conflicts. Some are mercenaries like Arliz Hadrassian and the Amaxine Warriors who flock to conflicts in any era. Others are opportunists like Gamut Key . And still others are there not in the criminal underworld because they desire to be, but because the galaxy has left them outcast, like Kanan Jarrus . Whether you are a new player of Star Wars: X-Wing or an old pirate like Hondo Ohnaka who has been playing Scum and Villainy for years, this squadron pack delivers the best and worst of the galactic underworld to the game table.

The Fugitives and Collaborators squadron pack comes with three ship miniatures, 13 ship cards, and 37 upgrade cards. Within this expansion, you’ll find everything you need to add one HWK-290 ship and two BTL-A4 Y-wings to your X-Wing collection, including three beautifully pre-painted miniatures, bases, tokens and dials. Four new HWK-290 Light Freighter ship cards and 9 BTL-A4 Y-wing ship cards accompany 38 upgrade cards and 4 secret condition cards to bring you plenty of options when assembling the crew for your next job.

Surviving on the Fringe
After Order 66 and the death of his mentor Depa Billaba, Kanan Jarrus found himself an orphan in an unfriendly galaxy. During this time, he learned to survive—and never to trust others. Kanan’s pilot ability helps himself or an ally stay alive under fire, but since he only has one Force charge, you’ll have to fly him cautiously if you want to keep his ship in one piece.

Kanan’s distrust was not misplaced, however. During his time in the galactic underworld avoiding the rising Empire, he interacted with shady characters like Gamut Key , the collaborationist governor of Kaller. And much as Gamut Key plays both sides of any conflict, his ability (in pilot or crew upgrade form) can be a help or a hindrance. By causing a ship to keep its circular tokens, Gamut Key can keep green tokens like focus and evade on a ship from round to round, setting up powerful attacks. But he can also cause orange tokens like tractor and jam to stick around, interfering with enemy plans. This makes him an especially good combination with that other famous rogue appearing in this product, Hondo Ohnaka . Hondo can coordinate one ship and jam another—as long both of those ships are on the same side. This means Hondo can jam a friendly ship to coordinate another friendly ship or coordinate an enemy to jam another enemy. Then, Gamut Key can cause a green token from the coordinated action or a jam token to persist for an additional round, magnifying the effect.

Experimental Technologies
The other interesting inclusion in Fugitives and Collaborators is a number of tech upgrades. While the Scum and Villainy faction has had access to tech upgrades for some time via the Quadjumper, the BTL-A Y-wing pilots like the Amaxine Warrior and Jinata Security Officer also have access to this slot to reflect their collusion with the First Order. As such, several of the upgrades in this squadron pack provide entirely new options for the Scum and Villainy faction. Targeting Synchronizer could enable new types of ordnance-based lists, such as a durable Y-wing pilot like Leema Kai setting up shots for nimble M-3A interceptors carrying devastating missiles or torpedoes.

Building in a completely different direction, Automated Targeting Priority can give even Jinata Security Officers a formidable offense that foes will want to avoid. Combine this with payloads like the included Concussion Bombs or Scum favorite Thermal Detonators and weapons like Ion Turrets , and these two Y-wings can be an extremely effective area-denial tool even when flying in a straight line (to say nothing of what possibilities more daring maneuvers can create).

Another major upgrade in this expansion is the new Scum and Villainy talent: Cutthroat .

Cutthroat builds upon the cycle established by designer Brooks Flugaur-Leavitt with Hopeful and Disciplined , discussed in a previous article. Featuring Cad Bane (who needs no introduction) in its art, Cutthroat opens some very interesting possibilities for Scum lists, recovering charges on various Illicit upgrades or getting ordnance back on ships that can’t normally reload. Scum and Villainy as a faction is uniquely suited to such tactics thanks to its wide range of inexpensive ships and upgrades like the included R5-TK , a devious droid who lets you finish off a friendly ship at a key moment if your opponent won’t oblige you.

Irregular Entanglements
Some of the most famous team-ups in Star Wars feature callous bounty hunters, deadly mercenaries, or smugglers with a heart of gold choosing to throw in their lot with the forces of good or evil. And so, in Fugitives and Collaborators, Brooks Flugaur-Leavitt designed two cards to bring these iconic alliances to life in the Epic Battles game mode: Bounty and In It for the Money.

Each of these cards grants a list of another faction access to a Scum and Villainy ship as an allied ship and grants a benefit if a particular goal is completed during the game. If a ship with Bounty (Hired) brings down a high-priority target (a limited enemy ship), the bounty hunter receives cold, hard credits (its non-recurring ship and upgrade charges are refreshed), and the card becomes Bounty (Paid) . On the other hand, if a smuggler who is merely In It for the Money sees a deed of selfless heroism, said smuggler might decide they’re actually In It for the Rebellion , making the ship friendly instead of allied (which allows it to share abilities that affect friendly ships).

Expanding Your Operations
As a first step into the wretched hive of the Scum and Villainy faction, the Fugitives and Collaborators Squadron Pack starts new players off with a solid gallery of rogues to populate their X-Wing squadrons. With two resilient Y-wings and a versatile HWK-290, a player can form the basis of many squadrons. From here, either of the following products would open your options up even further:

The Slave I Expansion will not only give you the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett , but will also give you a sturdy, hard-hitting ship around which to base your squadron. With Kanan providing defensive backup or Gamut Key letting you keep a reinforce token for an extra round, a Firespray is a solid addition to any Scum and Villainy collection that starts with Fugitives and Collaborators.

On the other end of the spectrum, if you want to add a highly maneuverable ace to take advantage of the disruption your Y-wings and HWK-290 can create with bombs, the Fang Fighter Expansion is also an excellent choice. This lightning-quick knife fighter is deadly in a head-on attack or when striking from unexpected angles and adding one to your collection will give you a flexible set of options when list-building.

Star Wars X-Wing: Galactic Empire Conversion Kit
Star Wars X-Wing: Galactic Empire Conversion Kit

At the height of its power, the Imperial Navy deployed a wide range of ships and exceptional pilots in its effort to bring order to the galaxy and crush the Rebellion. From the legendary Soontir Fel in his TIE interceptor to the feared TIE defender pilots of Onyx Squadron, each pilot and ship had unique skills and capabilities to offer in service of the Emperor. The Galactic Empire Conversion Kit allows you to tap into the vast reserves of the Empire at the very beginning of X-Wing Second Edition.

This kit contains all the components you need to upgrade your Imperial ship collection from the first edition to the second edition, including ship cards, upgrade cards, ship tokens, and maneuver dials. With the conversion kit, veteran and new players alike will be able to choose from a variety of Imperial pilots for each ship, then outfit those ships by selecting from more than one-hundred upgrade cards. All ships and upgrade cards contained in the Galactic Empire Conversion Kit will be supported by the X-Wing Second Edition squad-builder app at launch, giving you a deep pool of options for customizing each ship and squadron.

Although most of the Galactic Empire's ships from the first edition are represented in the conversion kit, those emblazoned with the emblem of the First Order are not. Pilots like Kylo Ren and his TIE silencer carry on the legacy of the Empire in a new era, struggling to retake control of the galaxy from the New Republic and the Resistance. Therefore, the First Order is being developed into a separate faction for X-Wing Second Edition and will receive its own conversion kit as a future expansion.

The Galactic Empire Conversion Kit adapts your first edition ships and pilots to the changes introduced in X-Wing Second Edition, including Force powers, multiple-use ordnance, changes to turrets, and other “quality of life” improvements. Additionally, in the game's second edition, the Empire’s TIE/ca Punisher has been reclassified as a medium-base ship—a new size of ship base filling the space between small-base and large-base ships. In addition to a wealth of punchboard and cards, the Galactic Empire Conversion Kit provides all the bases, pegs, and tokens you need to add this ship to your squadron.

Launch your fighters into the future of X-Wing with the Galactic Empire Conversion Kit!

The number of ships supported (by maneuver dials included) in Galactic Empire Conversion Kit are:
2 – Alpha-class Star Wing
3 – Inquisitor’s TIE
2 – Lambda-class Shuttle
2 – TIE Advanced
3 – TIE Aggressor
3 – TIE Bomber
2 – TIE Defender
4 – TIE Fighter
3 – TIE Interceptor
2 – TIE Phantom
2 – TIE Punisher
3 – TIE Striker
3 – VT-49 Decimator
